Our story

Decades of experience

To orchestrate smooth and seamless transitions, ensuring a successful relocation and setup.

30 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

With several years of experience already, Ms. Johanne Laurin founded her first corporate relocation project management company in 1996 to meet the occasional needs of businesses undergoing physical space reorganization. In 1998, after managing the relocation of 1,200 workstations for Nortel, projects began to multiply, and the team had to expand.

In 2001, she partnered with a co-owner, and the company was renamed Projexpace. It was during this year that Projexpace was awarded the contract to manage the relocation of over 1,600 workstations for the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.

Ms. Laurin also developed a new line of services focused on construction project administration. Prestigious clients then entrusted the team with projects, including AXA Insurance (900 workstations, 14 floors), Standard Life (900 workstations, 12 floors), Yoplait (offices and warehouse), Vidéotron, and Telus.

But private companies are not the only ones that require external expertise.

In the early 2000s, the creation and mergers of CLSCs within the healthcare network created an urgent need for top-tier expertise and experience in these sectors.

And in the regions, the need is even greater. As a result, our professionals have been entrusted with assignments in Trois-Rivières, Sherbrooke, Joliette, Châteauguay, as facility managers for numerous CLSCs. Not to mention those in the greater Montreal area, Montérégie, and the North Shore.

Starting in 2003, projects for expansions, new construction, space planning, and relocations of hospital centers began to emerge (Honoré Mercier, Montreal Mental Health Institute, Pierre Legardeur, Maisonneuve-Rosemont (CSA) and emergency services, CHUM, Montreal Heart Institute, Haut-Richelieu, Ste-Hyacinthe, Santa Cabrini, and others) that demonstrated their trust in Projexpace and helped build its reputation. Not to mention the CHSLDs, rehabilitation centers, day centers, and a dozen CLSCs.

In 2014, the planning and execution of the CHUM research center relocation plan through a public-private partnership (PPP) were awarded to them, representing the largest relocation project in Quebec's history at the time.

In 2015, in partnership with the French firm Déméninge, Projexpace was awarded the contract for planning the relocation of CHUM's operations.

Today, with the creation of CIUSSS and CISSS, the team has managed the relocation of over 150 projects, including approximately 80 projects involving the transfer of operations and relocations within the healthcare network: emergency departments, operating rooms, care units, and laboratories.

Projexpace has also developed expertise in the planning, coordination, and supervision of records/archive transfers, including the reorganization of over 500,000 patient files at Honoré Mercier Hospital, the constant supervision of the relocation of more than 20 million files for Revenu Québec, and more recently, the transfer of McGill University’s library, containing over 2 million books, 250,000 archive boxes, and thousands of rare volumes relocated to regional facilities.
